How billing works

Covers the free trial, billing, and cancellation for Essentials and Growth.

This page covers payment terms only. It hasn't been reviewed by a lawyer yet, and it isn't a substitute for a full Terms of Service or Privacy Policy -- those still need to be drafted and reviewed before this is relied on for customers beyond an internal test.

Free trial

Every new client gets the same 30-day free trial, starting the day you complete signup. There's no shorter or longer version for any client, regardless of how established your catalog is.

Card on file

We collect a payment method when you start your trial, before any charge occurs. This holds your spot and lets your account convert automatically if you decide to continue -- nothing is charged on the day you sign up.

Billing after the trial

Essentials: $297/month, charged automatically starting day 30, then monthly on the same date.
Growth: $497/month, charged automatically starting day 30, then monthly on the same date.

Both plans are month-to-month after the trial. There's no long-term contract.

Cancelling

You can cancel any time before day 30 and you will not be charged anything. After billing starts, you can cancel any time and won't be charged for the following month; we don't prorate or refund the current billing period.

Cancel yourself, any time, through your billing portal -- no need to email us first. If you'd rather have us handle it, email owen@signalforauthors.com instead.

Changing plans

You can move between Essentials and Growth at any time by email. A plan change takes effect on your next billing date.
